CARPETS

1992, my first trip to Nepal. I visited a manufactory hoping that my criteria for quality and appreciative treatment of the employees would be met. My designs should be implemented to classic "Tibetans", in high Nepalese craftsmanship. I immediately felt at home and learned to love the country and its people. That was the start of  decades of cooperation and valuable friendships.

My carpet paintings are loved in Europe, the quality appreciated and after the first difficult years without computers and with long postal routes they became a success story combining  western design with Nepalese craftsmanship in the highest quality.

My concept "Gender Project for Women in Nepal" was launched and the pilot project was carried out by the NGO Ecohimal with the Austrian Foreign Ministry.
